ROTAX 771 FREE AIR ENGINE from 1970 SKI DOO BLIZZARD 776
(not for sale)
82HP - First use of free air engine in a Ski Doo - First use of tuned exhaust on a Ski-Doo -
Both styles of Blizzard attempted to utilize poly carbonate plastic for their belly pans.
It was soon found that gasoline spillage ate the poly carbonate. A fiberglass replacement was created.
All the Blizzards for 1970 came with a Bosch CDI ignition, a first for Ski-Doo.
Reliability of these ignitions was less than great and many were retrofitted with a more reliable points system.
The DOUBLE EAGLE Speed run machine was powered by 2 776 Blizzard engines
